Act of Marriage of Mr Peter Moore, landowner and resident of St Eustatius Island, at present in this part of St Martin Island, aged about 23 years, born on the aforesaid St Eustatius Island on 18 October 1792, of age, legitimate son of William Moore and Adrienne Heyliger, landowners living on the aforesaid St Eustatius Island; and Miss Marie Francoise Adelaide Serane, minor, resident of this French part of St Martin Island, aged about 17 years, born in Basseterre, Guadeloupe on 25 November 1797, legitimate daughter of the late Joseph Serane, auctioneer and solicitor in the aforesaid town of Basseterre, Guadeloupe, and the late Henriette Bruce, resident of the aforesaid town of Basseterre, Guadeloupe.
With the consent of the parents of the groom and of Mr Jean Baptiste Bresson, principal guardian of the bride, the banns of this marriage were called in this French part of St Martin Island on the Sundays 4th and 11th of this month, and also on St Eustatius Island the same days, with no objection.
The spouses having declared themselves ready to take each other as husband and wife in the presence of:
Etienne Larrendouette, merchant and resident of Marigot in this French part of St Martin Island, aged 44 years;
Henry Blanc, also merchant and resident of the aforesaid Marigot, aged 35 years;
Alexis Bode, administration officer in this French part of St Martin Island, aged 30 years;
and Louis Ducour, landowner in this French part of St Martin Island, aged 46 years;
These persons having declared that they are neither blood relations nor in-laws of the parties -
I, Jean Henry, public officer of the Civil State, have pronounced in the name of the law that Peter Moore and Marie Francoise Adelaide Serane are married.
